Amanda Willis and members of Kadena's dragon boat race team practice their rowing technique during dragon boat race practice at Ryukyu Middle School's pool April 29. On May 5th, two Kadena teams - one men's, one women's - will compete against several local and U.S. military teams as part of Naha City's annual dragon boat race. The men's team is scheduled to start its heat against the Marine Corps and Naha City fire department around 2:30 p.m., while the women's team is scheduled to face off against the Ryukyu Yurimiya and Gritt teams around noon. All military members and their families are encouraged to attend the race and accompanying festival in Naha, but be aware of extremely limited parking downtown. (Air Force/Staff Sgt. Jason Lake)
