Staff Sgt. Daniel Harris and Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Martin, both from 18th Civil Engineer Squadron, cut reinforcing bar for the foundation an elementary school complex in Northern Luzon, Philippines during Balikatan 2010. Nearly 30 Kadena civil engineers deployed to the Philippines this spring to build two classrooms for the school that was badly damaged by severe weather. Altogether, U.S. military forces spent $325,000 to build a new healthcare center, build and refurbish old schools and continue construction of a flood wall in the country. (Courtesy photo)
