Shogun-International Carnival brings cultures together

Okinawa City Leaders and 18th Wing leaders march together during the Okinawa City International Carnival parade Nov. 4. The carnival aims to bring people together and stimulate local industries, while creating a “cosmopolitan cultural tourism city” through music, traditional entertainment, and sporting events. Approximately 2,000 people participated in a tug-of-war, which was the highlight of the carnival. The east side beat the west in the tug-of-war competition.
