Japan foreign minister visits Kadena

Brig. Gen. Ken Wilsbach, 18th Wing commander, and Lt. Gen. Terry Robling, III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general, greet Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada during a site visit to Kadena Monday. According to Japanese press reports, the foreign minister toured Kadena to personally research the possibility of combining Marine Corps Air Station Futenma with the air base. The relocation of Futenma is a key measure of a major realignment plan signed by both countries three years ago. Nearly 50,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in Japan.(Air Force/Staff Sgt.
