Okinawa Airmen participate in annual Dragon Boat Race

The “Shoguns” dragon boat teams, from Kadena Air Base, Japan, competed in the 33rd Annual Naha Dragon Boat races at Naha Port May 5. Here, the men's and women's teams pose with the women’s first place trophy. More than 50 teams, including eight military teams from U.S. bases on Okinawa, took part in the annual competition. Among the U.S. military teams, the Air Force finished second at 5:00.22 minutes in the men’s division. In the women’s division, the Air Force also finished second at 5:36.25 minutes. The women’s team came in first place of their heat and second place in the overall for the U.S. military forces women’s bracket.
