18th OSS remembers fallen pilot, rededicates building
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Robert Pekarek, 18th Operations Support Squadron commander, gives closing remarks during a rededication ceremony on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Dec. 20, 2013. The building was dedicated in honor of Cardin in 1983 after he perished in a mid-air collision during a training exercise. The building was dedicated in his memory to honor the sacrifices made by those fighting for freedom in both peace and war time. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Hailey R. Staker)
