Kadena honors those who have served during Veterans Day

Charles Cathey (right), Okinawa American Legion post 28 commander, U.S. Air Force Col. Brian McDaniel, 18th Wing vice commander, and Dennis Provencher, Okinawa Veterans of Foreign Wars post 9723 commander, salute a POW/MIA wreath as it is placed in front of the command building flagpoles during a Veterans Day ceremony at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Nov. 11, 2013. President Woodrow Wilson first commemorated Nov. 11 as Armistice Day in 1919 to honor the veterans of World War I. The day was later changed to Veterans Day in 1954 by President Dwight Eisenhower to honor all veterans from all U.S. conflicts. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Amber E. N. Jacobs)
