Kadena hosts bilateral training exercise

Hidehiko Fujino, cabinet secretariat and director for crisis management in Okinawa, speaks about what would happen in the event of an off base U.S. military aircraft accident in Japan during a tabletop exercise on Kadena Air Base, Nov. 13, 2014. The Bilateral Aircraft Mishap Response exercise was held to answer any questions about what to do during the field training exercise scheduled for Feb. 2015. The purpose of the FTX is to meet the intent of the guidelines regarding off base U.S. military aircraft accidents in Japan, which includes conducting a billateral drill periodically in order to review procedures and maintain close coordination between U.S. military and local agencies with regard to on site actions and procedures during an aircraft emergency.
