18th Wing participates in Okinawa disaster drill

An Okinawan emergency responder awaits the signal to arrive on-scene to a simulated disaster relief site during an Okinawa Prefectural Government disaster response exercise at Atta Port, Japan, Sept. 5, 2015. This year’s exercise, which marks the first time involving the 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base, Japan, gave participants and spectators an understanding of how the 82 separate entities from U.S. military, JSDF and local emergency responders work together to save lives in the wake of devastation from a natural disaster in the region.
