U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 353rd Special Operations Support Squadron work alongside members of the III Marine Expeditionary Force and the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa to put together an Air Transportable Treatment Unit at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Sept. 23, 2021. The ATTU was constructed in preparation for the upcoming bilateral engagement with the Japan Self Defense Force in the Rescue Island Disaster exercise. The RIDEX will allow the 353rd SOSS to conduct interoperability training with joint and bilateral partners in order to increase medical capabilities during contingency exercise and real-world events.
