18th LRS, JASDF improve cryogenics interoberability
Senior Airman Nathaniel Hayashida, 18th Component Maintenance Squadron electrical and environmental journeyman, conducts an odor test for a sample of liquid oxygen during the aviation training relocation program at Japan Air Self-Defense Force Tsuiki Air Base, Nov. 18, 2022. An odor test ensures the liquid oxygen is good quality for use by aviators at high altitudes. Liquid oxygen has to be at least 99.5 percent pure in order for it to be used.
