The 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on Kadena Air Base, Japan overlook three units; the 33rd, 909th, and 961st Aircraft Maintenance Squadrons which maintain the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft (AWACS), HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters and KC-135 Stratotankers.

Their mission is to provide combat ready air refueling, command and control, combat search and rescue aircraft, people and equipment to fight and win tomorrow. Their vision is to have and maintain a team of professional maintainers committed to peace in the Indo-Pacific region.

In 2008, 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron earned the 2008 Pacific Air Force Maintenance Effectiveness Award for medium-sized squadrons. They earned this title by focusing on readiness, mission accomplishment and efficiency. This is a result of this team living up to three major command challenges: delivering safe, reliable and effective aircraft, maximizing readiness and being the best.

The team plans to maintain and continue to excel in maintaining strong communication and team work across the 33rd Rescue Squadron, 909th Refueling Squadron and 961st Airborne Air Control Squadron.
