2016 summer employment program information

ELIGIBILITY: SOFA status US citizen dependents (age 14 through 22) and spouses of DoD military and US appropriated fund, NAF, and AAFES civilian are eligible to participate. Dependents of sponsors working for the Red Cross, USO, DoD contractors, BX, concessionaries, military banking facilities, or universities are ineligible for the program.

EMPLOYMENT PERIOD/HOURS & PAY: The program will run from June 20 through Aug. 12, 2016. A limited number of Clerk and Laborer positions will be filled at 20 hours per week and pay will be determined at a future date. Selectees must be available for the entire program. Work hours may vary and may include weekends and/or early evening shifts. Work schedules are established by the supervisor. Selectees must provide their own transportation.

PLACEMENT OF EMPLOYEES: Once placed, employees may not change to another position, no exceptions. Selected applicants will receive individual job offers via the email address that is provided on the application. Additionally, selectees (numbers) will be posted at the Kadena Civilian Personnel Office Bulletin Board. Due to the large number of participants in this program, applicants must check the posted list to determine if they have been placed.

SELECTED APPLICANTS: All selected applicants must attend mandatory in-processing. Date, time and location will be emailed.
The following will need to be provided:

Copy of signed Social Security Card
Copy of dependent Identification Card
Copy of U.S. Passport/Visa

*Civil Service Employment Law requires males 18 years old and higher must register with the Selective Service Registration.

NOTE: Uncooperative or disruptive selectees during in-processing will be asked to leave and will not be placed.

DIRECT DEPOSIT - The Air Force requires all employees to have an established bank account for direct deposit of their pay checks. Direct deposit is mandatory. Selectees may use their own account or their parent's account. For questions, please call 634-3204. Failure to provide a completed direct deposit form will be considered a declination.

WHEN/WHERE TO APPLY: Applications will only be accepted May 2-6, 2016, at the Civilian Personnel Office Building 721-A, Second Floor, from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

and have a valid ID.
