Five Kadena F-15s from the 67th Fighter Squadron and about 90 Airmen departed for Nyutabaru Japan Air Self-Defense Force Base in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan to participate in a bilateral training event with the JASDF's 5th Air Wing.

This Type I Aircraft Training Relocation is designed to increase operational readiness for both air forces while enhancing bilateral interoperability. During the deployment, Kadena F-15 pilots will have the opportunity to hone their combat flying skills with their Japanese counterparts in the 301st Tactical Fighter Squadron. Maintenance personnel from the 67th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron will also have the chance to work and learn alongside their JASDF equivalents. This is the 18th Wing's second Aircraft Training Relocation at Nyutabaru Air Base.

In addition, the deployment is an opportunity for both sides to strengthen relations and develop mutual trust, ultimately strengthening the U.S.-Japan Security Alliance. The training will last until Feb. 27.
