Title
MWD: the road to certification
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Ralph Rodriguez, 18th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, hold the leash while Dax, 18th SFS MWD, jumps over an obstacle during the obstacle course on Kadena Air Base, Japan, March 28, 2014. Dax had been put on medical hold after injuring his tail, which resulted in a procedure to remove it, as well as getting sick after the procedure. Once he was removed from medical hold, he had passed the time allotted for him to be trained, and was unable to be certified by Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Dax was then brought to Kadena under the condition Kadena trained and certified him. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Hailey R. Staker)
