October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the John Hopkins medical center, 40 percent of diagnosed breast cancers are detected by women who feel a lump, so establishing a regular breast self-exam is very important. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Approximately one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
