KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The Bilateral Leadership Officer Group met to further
strengthen ties between the 18th Wing and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Oct.
27, 2017, at Kadena Air Base, Japan.
The BLOG is an organization composed of 18th Wing and Southwest
Composite Air Division military officers that allows members to meet and form
relationships and professional understandings between one another.
“This group will help develop and enhance relationships to
ensure mutual understanding and cooperation,” said Maj. Mikihiro Furusawa,
Southwest Air Self-Defense Force officer.
More than 10 JASDF officers came to Kadena AB to spend time
with officers from across the installation while touring and observing multiple
units and their unique missions.
“Events such as this assist in developing stronger
connections with our bilateral partners from a mission and human relations
perspective,” said Capt. Enoch Stohry, 18th Wing Equal Opportunity director.
“Developing mutual understanding and cooperation between mission partners helps
to enrich the goal of achieving shared strategic interests.”
