18th Wing IG office receives PACAF award

The 18th Wing Inspector General office was recently recognized by Pacific Air Forces headquarters for superior performance in 2012.

The IG office received the John P. Flynn Award, Category 1, for the second year in a row for its outstanding leadership, professional qualities, and duty performance to the largest Air Force combat wing, which includes 24,000 Airmen, Department of Defense civilians and dependents.

Over the course of 2012, the 18th Wing IG provided prompt resolution to 203 individual complaints. The IG team also resolved 14 fraud, waste and abuse cases, eliminating waste and saving valuable resources. Additionally, the IG team led 120 education training events at newcomer's orientations, commanders calls, the first-term Airmen's center, flight commander's course and senior NCO development seminars, culminating in more than 8,000 personnel trained.

The John P. Flynn award recognizes the best installation complaints resolution program throughout the Air Force.
