Additionally, Kadena's very own Staff Sgt. Stefan Edmiston, 18th Component Maintenance Squadron was among 30 enlisted Airmen selected to attend Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala. An unprecedented 100 percent of enlisted active-duty members who applied for Officer Training School were accepted by the OTS Rated Selection Board 12OT01, officials announced this spring. A total of 215 men and women, including 30 enlisted active duty members, have earned an opportunity to become Air Force leaders following their selection for an officer commission. Air Force Recruiting Service officials considered 313 applications as part of the Officer Training School Rated Selection Board 12OT01. With the board's selection rate of 68.7 percent, 215 applicants were selected to serve as pilots, combat systems officers, air battle managers or remotely piloted aircraft pilots.
