Joint service color run paints Kadena

Air Force Sergeants Association chapter 1553 hosted a Joint Service Color Run 2013 on Kadena Air Base, Japan, July 3, 2013. These 5k runs consist of throwing colored powder, which is biodegradable cornstarch, every 1,000 meters while runners run through color stations. More than 400 people registered and 100 people volunteered for the event, and more than $10,000 was raised in support of AFSA-sponsored Prisoners of War/Missing in Action events, scholarships and opportunities to give back to military members and the community.
