Kadena Airmen help save lives

U.S. Air Force Airmen 1st Class Zach Gribble and Darrel Wang, 18th Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment apprentices, inflate an E-3 Sentry Evacuation Assembly Slide on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Sept. 5, 2012. An aircraft life raft escape slide assembly is used for evacuating passengers from an aircraft and providing a floating support if the evacuation happens over water. It has an inflatable slide structure, which is connected to an inflatable boarding slide structure to define an integral unit, while each structure is still independently inflatable.
