NDI inspects to save lives

Airman 1st Class Jared Grove, 18th Equipment Maintenance Squadron nondestructive inspection technician, lifts his hands under a black light to show the effect the chemical has under the unique light at Kadena’s NDI lab, May 11. The NDI technicians use black lights and a special chemical to show any damage such as cracks in structural parts and components of aircraft and support equipment without destroying the part, ensuring the safety of the Airmen who use them during Kadena’s many on-going missions.
