Flight surgeons keep 18th Wing aircrew fir to fly, fight, win

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. James Bermudez, 31st Rescue Squadron flight surgeon, and Capt. Andrew Alderman, 33rd Rescue Squadron pilot, talk about their weekend during a routine visit to the squadron on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Oct. 21, 2013. Bermudez, one of five active flight surgeons assigned to Kadena, visits each flying squadron on a regular basis to interact with Airmen on active flight status. By interacting with aircrew, Bermudez has a unique opportunity to learn more about his patients on a one-on-one basis and identify health concerns before they become a bigger issue and affect Kadena?s flying mission.
