Okinawa City residents celebrate Kikushu

Junko Machida, an Okinawa City resident, pours sake into a cup in preparation for a Kikushu ritual on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Oct. 2, 2014. Kikushu is a traditional Japanese celebration where members of a community gather in a common area to offer food to their ancestors and pray for a successful harvest and their family's prosperity. This year, former residents of the land Kadena now occupies came on base to visit their old community garden and celebrate Kikushu. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Zade C.
