From swab to call: COVID-19 testing
Kelly Kovalsky, 18th Medical Support Squadron laboratory assistant, alphabetizes COVID-19 test swab samples at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Jan. 13, 2022. After verifying the test orders, laboratory technicians prepare the samples to be shipped for testing. In order to test large amounts of samples per day, the 18th Medical Group ships the swabs by plane to a testing lab in Tokyo. Once the test results come back, technicians input them into the computer. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Yosselin Perla)
