18th EMS, MWSS-172 practice crash recovery

A U.S. Marine assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172 checks the alignment of an F-15 Eagle with an All-Terrain Crane, known as a MAC-50, at Kadena Air Base, Japan, April 4, 2022. This joint training was performed to test crash recovery capabilities for the MWSS-172 and 18th EMS. During a real aircraft crash scenario, the MAC-50 would be used to lift an immobile aircraft so that a truck would be able to drive under and prepare the aircraft for transportation.
